Cambridge Bethany Bend High School

Cambridge Bethany Bend High School, designed by Atlanta based CGLS Architects, is a 320,885 square foot facility located in Milton, Georgia. The two-story facility includes 99 instructional rooms including classrooms, science labs for chemistry and physical sciences, media labs, and writing centers. Featuring a cafeteria and interior commons area, the school also includes a state-of-the-art, 600-seat performance theater, auditorium, and several science labs. CxGBS provided Holistic Commissioning of the building enclosure, security, food service, mechanical, HVAC, HVAC controls, plumbing, and electrical systems.

Added value through CxGBS® services:

While commissioning the building, CxGBS identified and resolved the following issues:

  • Several instances in which contractor installation of storefront windows was not in accordance with contract documents allowing water penetration during testing.
  • Energy Recovery Systems which were not programmed in accordance with the control sequence of operations
  • Several instances in which laboratory space pressurization was not setup appropriately. During resolution, we worked with the controls contractor to make necessary corrections.
