Administration Building – Coahoma Community College

The Vivian M Presley Administration Building was constructed in 2011 and following construction completion, several instances of water intrusion were experienced during wind-driven rain events.  CxGBS® was contracted to investigate and perform testing to identify the sources of the water intrusion.

Added value through CxGBS® services:

CxGBS® identified several deficiencies in storefront assemblies and building waterproofing systems including the following:

  • Improperly installed flashings
  • Improperly lapped or shingled waterproofing membranes
  • Missing end dams in sill flashings
  • Gaps in window gaskets allowing air infiltration through the window assembly
  • Missing thermal breaks allowing condensation to form on aluminum mullions
  • Degraded and/or missing sealants
  • Discontinuities in air and water barrier systems
