Charleston U.S. Post Office and Courthouse

CxGBS® was subcontracted by ME Group to provide the GSA with retro-commissioning services (RCx) for the Charleston P.O. & Courthouse (SC0012ZZ) and the Hollings Judicial Center (SC0076AC).  Scope of Services were engineering and commissioning expertise to conduct re-commissioning/retro-commissioning planning, identify energy and water conservation, scoping, testing, investigation, evaluation analysis, calculations, recommendations, and report writing services.  Where simple repairs were not possible, recommendations for necessary modifications were made.

From the results of the retro-commissioning activities specific actions were recommended, energy conservation measures (ECM) were proposed, and cost benefit analysis was performed.  CxGBS® issued the final project report directly to the GSA.

Added value through CxGBS® services:

  • Identified no/low-cost energy and water conservation measures that were addressed in the field.
  • Recommended energy conservation measures for more intensive capital improvements with a cost benefit analysis.
