College Hall – University of Southern Mississippi

Built in 1913, College Hall is one of the five original buildings on the Southern Mississippi campus in Hattiesburg. Originally, it was home to then Mississippi Normal College’s academic departments, library, classrooms, faculty offices, and the president’s office.

With the building’s renovation complete, it now houses classrooms and offices on the first floor; classrooms, offices, a digital photo laboratory, photo studio and two computer labs on the second floor as well as the Student Media Center on the third floor.

• Identified instance in which installation of barometric dampers in boiler room did not allow sufficient quantities of make-up air for proper space pressurization and assisted in identifying an appropriate correction.
• Identified instances in which occupancy sensors were not properly de-energizing associated light fixtures.
• Identified instances in which thermostats were located in spaces other than those served by the unit they were controlling.
