Office Expansion & Renovation – MS Dept. of Rehabilitation

In order to provide additional space for administration and rehabilitation activities, the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services renovated approximately 30,000 SF of the existing building and expanded the building by approximately 50,000 SF. The facility improvements included an auditorium, computer labs, office areas, workrooms, storage areas, conference rooms, and rehabilitation spaces.

CxGBS provided Holistic Commissioning of the building enclosure, HVAC, HVAC controls, plumbing, and electrical from schematic design through construction and warranty phases.

Added value through CxGBS® services:

  • CxGBS identified a number of issues during design and construction that helped identify issues before they became problems for the owner.
  • Roof drain installation was discovered to be insufficient allowing water leaks through drain bodies and insulation was not installed correctly allowing condensation to develop on the interior of the drain body.
  • In addition, CxGBS identified a number of deficiencies in the HVAC control installations from improperly programmed demand controlled ventilation to missing control valves and devices.
